EXO Manual
ZeroStick EXO is a small box that sits between your controller (or mouse and keyboard) and your console. It lets you remap buttons, play with mouse and keyboard, run scripts and Smart Actions, and use AI Scripts that read the screen. You buy the hardware once, and all the software is free.
What the EXO does
- Lets you use a supported controller, or a mouse and keyboard, on your console.
- Remaps buttons, tunes your aim and turns mouse movement into stick movement.
- Runs Smart Actions (shown as "Scripts" in the app) and GPC scripts written for Cronus Zen and Titan Two style devices.
- Runs AI Scripts, which read the game's HUD and can switch scripts by weapon.
- Is set up from the ZeroStick phone app over Bluetooth, or from EXO Studio on a Windows PC over the USB cable.
There is no subscription and no account. Every feature, including AI Scripts and Screen Assist, is included.
What's in the box
| Version | Includes | You also need |
|---|---|---|
| EXO for Xbox | The EXO unit | One genuine wired Xbox controller. It handles the console's security check and can also be the controller you play with. |
| EXO for PS5 | The EXO unit and the P5General dongle, which handles the PS5's security check | Your controller, or a mouse and keyboard |
Ports
| Port | Where | What plugs in |
|---|---|---|
| USB-C CONSOLE | Back | Cable to your console (or PC). The console also powers the EXO through this port. |
| USB-C AUX | Back | Your Windows PC for EXO Studio, or extra power (for example when charging controllers). |
| USB-A AUTH | Back | The security-check device: the P5General dongle (PS5) or a genuine wired Xbox controller (Xbox). |
| HDMI IN | Back | HDMI from your console. |
| HDMI OUT | Back | HDMI to your TV or monitor. The picture passes straight through to your screen. |
| Ethernet | Back | Wired network. |
| USB-A A1–A4 | Front | Your controller, mouse and keyboard. |
| USER button | Front (recessed) | User button. |
| Logo lights | Lid | Show status and the colour of the active config. |
The three device modes
The mode applies to the whole device. It starts in Normal.
| Mode | Works like | What runs |
|---|---|---|
| Normal | The full EXO | Everything: remaps, aim, Smart Actions, and AI Scripts using the EXO's own HDMI capture. |
| GPC | A Cronus Zen | The aim engine with your Zen (GPC) scripts on top. AI Scripts are off and capture is parked. |
| EXO Studio | A Titan Two | Computer vision runs on your PC in EXO Studio and sends its results to the EXO. |
Note Tournament Mode (Global Settings > General) is one switch that turns off GPC scripts, Smart Actions, AI actions, recoil, turbo and injected moves. Your remaps, sticks, aim settings and config switching keep working. HOME shows a "Tournament" chip while it is on.
How the signal travels
- Your controller, mouse and keyboard plug into the front ports.
- The EXO's main processor reads them and applies your config (remaps, aim, scripts) once every millisecond.
- A separate output chip sends the result to the console as a controller.
- The real licensed device in the AUTH port answers the console's security check. The EXO only passes messages to and from it.
- Your game picture goes from HDMI IN straight to HDMI OUT. The EXO also reads a copy for AI Scripts.
The config's Connection Method tells the EXO which console it is talking to. When you change it, the EXO switches over by itself in about a second.
