How TMR Modules Work
A ZeroStick TMR module replaces the worn-out potentiometers in a DualSense Edge stick with a magnet and a K-Silver TMR sensor, so stick position is read without any parts rubbing together. Here's what's inside and why it matters.
Inside the module
- The stick and gimbal. The stick moves inside the same two-axis mechanism you already know, so it feels like a stock Edge stick.
- A small magnet moves with the stick.
- K-Silver TMR sensors read the magnet's field and turn it into a precise X/Y position.
- The Edge connector. The module plugs into the Edge's module bay exactly like the original.
Why contactless means no drift
Stock sticks use a wiper rubbing on a carbon track. That friction wears the track, and a worn track reports false positions, which is drift. In a TMR module the magnet never touches the sensor. Nothing wears, so the readings don't creep over time.
Pre-calibrated, with calibration unlocked
Every module is calibrated and tested before it ships, so it's ready to play out of the box. We also leave calibration unlocked. If you ever want to re-tune a module, you can run a standard recalibration at any time. See testing and calibration.
Built to last
With no wearing parts in the sensing path, TMR modules are made for the long run, and they're backed by our 5-year stick warranty.
